The president of Winterpark Resort discussed what Winter Park Resort is doing about tree mitigation. Very long discussion and intricate maps to show how they have done mitigation on 400 acres with 1,000 to go but they admit all lodgepole will be lost and Winter Park slopes will look very different in many areas over the next 5 years. You may see areas roped off to encourage growth of new trees/aspens. No replanting going on as lodge pole pine regenerates and brings Aspen.

Residential Real Estate had 30 units to sell in Founder’s Pointe and Fraser Crossing, sold 14 out of the 15 first half offering and the next 15 will go on the market in the Fall of this year. He gave the same line that Intrawest gave in the email to all of us about the sales – that it will help the market in the long run to get these out of their inventory. Personally, I wish they would just say that their company needed cash, but that’s wishful thinking. There are no plans for next phase of real estate construction.

The Winter park ski train closed this past spring when it was sold to a Canadian company. Winter Park is in talks with Iowa Pacific Railroads, Union Pacific and Amtrak to start up a new Ski Train from Denver. It would have modern cars, double the amount of capacity. It would leave somewhere else than Union Station since it is under construction for next 5 years. They will know more in next 30 days.
